The Rams, ‘QB Matthew Stafford Said Choosing Rams Was The Biggest Mistake That He Has Ever Made….
The new Ritual Film Co.’s documentary film collaboration with the Los Angeles Rams, ‘Matthew Stafford: Locked In premiers on Thursday, April 18th at 5 pm PST on the NFL Network.
The feature explores a demanding part of the LA Rams’ season, covering five days when they played games against the Washington Commanders and New Orleans Saints. It provides an in-depth view of Matthew Stafford’s activities over those two weeks, including his time in meetings, training sessions, on the field, and at home. The documentary, “Matthew Stafford: Locked In,” illustrates how Stafford manages both his professional and personal life during a busy NFL season. It also includes a poignant segment where Stafford and his wife, Kelly, visit the Detroit Lions, where he spent the first 12 years of his career.
Los Angeles Rams Beat Writers React to Stafford Documentary
But the 43-minute film has already been screened by Rams beat reporters. Here are their initial reactions:
Hello Ramily! Today, or this evening (it’s all a bit confusing as I am techincally writing this on Wednesday) the show “Matthew Stafford: Locked In” will be televised. According to the tweet below it should be on the internet and NFL Network. I am not sure if I will watch it right away (I might) but I do absolutely plan to check that out at some point. How can a Rams’ fan not? Do you think you will be watching the Stafford show? Or do you say let’s just get to the draft already?
“In a documentary feature produced by the Los Angeles Rams titled “Matthew Stafford: Locked In,” the former Lions franchise quarterback for 12 seasons said he wasn’t expecting a warm welcome coming back to Detroit because he knew the fanbase’s passion and desire to win in the playoffs. The documentary will air on Rams’ channels and NFL Network on Thursday at 8 p.m.
“People are like, ‘Oh they are going to give you an ovation or a video on the board,’” Stafford said in the documentary. “I’m like, ‘Guys I know what I’m about to get from these people. They love their football, they love their Lions.’”
The 43-minute documentary focuses on Stafford’s life as an NFL quarterback while balancing being a father of four and a husband. It goes through Rams’ strong finish to the season, where they finished 7-1 over the last two months to secure a Wild Card spot and a chance to square off with the Lions and Jared Goff, the other quarterback involved in the trade in 2021.”
“But the Rams are the Rams, and GM Les Snead is Les Snead, so there’s probably at least one wild draft moment coming at some point next weekend. And while we all sit here patiently waiting for that to happen, let’s boldly predict what that draft moment may be. These are our three best guesses.
1. Trade back in the first round
Admittedly, this isn’t that bold. But the team is entering the 2024 NFL Draft with 11 draft picks. Will they want to trade back to add more to their ammo? Here’s a look at all the picks the Rams currently have as per the NFL website:
“The 2024 NFL draft is just a week away and Dane Brugler of The Athletic has put the finishing touches on his biggest mock draft of the year: a full seven-round projection, from Pick 1 to 257.
The Los Angeles Rams hold 11 picks in the draft, which is tied for the most of any team, so they have an opportunity to add plenty of young talent to their roster. They seem likely to draft a defender with their first pick at No. 19 overall, but with Les Snead and Sean McVay, nothing is off the table.
In Brugler’s mock, he has the Rams addressing the pass rush first before taking a quarterback with their second pick – a very polarizing passer who some believe could go in Round 1.”
