Breaking: Bengals Are Closing In On Deal To Sign $14.5 Million WR And Return Specialist……
CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins expects to be in Cincinnati this season. The 25-year-old requested a trade last month after the team used the franchise tag on him.
And while Higgins would certainly like a new contract, he’s making some changes to take another step forward in hopes of having the best year of his career.
Higgins is working with personal trainer David Alexander this offseason in Miami. Alexander has trained a plethora of top athletes, including Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Denzel Ward, Xavien Howard and plenty of other top athletes.
The Bengals took Higgins in the second round (33rd overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s helped Cincinnati win two AFC North titles and an AFC Championship. He helped them make back-to-back AFC Championship Games in 2021 and 2022. Higgins has 257 receptions for 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns in 58 career games.
The Cincinnati Bengals have struggled to strike gold in their past two draft classes as neither class has produced elite talent similar to past seasons. While some of that can be attributed to draft position (2020 first-round pick Joe Burrow was first overall and 2021 first-round pick Ja’Marr Chase was fifth overall), the top end of the two most recent draft classes simply haven’t impressed out of the gate.
Cincinnati Bengals Expected to Make Monster Trade With Division Rival
After the offseason additions of safeties Geno Stone and Vonn Bell, it looks like it is going to be difficult for 2022 first-round pick Dax Hill to see the field. Even though he struggled to close out his first season as a starter, the former Michigan Wolverine deserves an opportunity to prove himself but with the overpopulation of the safety position, it certainly isn’t going to be easy for him.
