After opening as an 8.5-point favorite for its game at Boston College on Friday, the Miami Hurricanes football team is now favored by 10.5 points against the Eagles on Friday per Fan Duel. Earlier this week offensive lineman Javion Cohen tweeted he has accepted an invitation from the Senior Bowl.

There has been no indication why the line moved two points in favor of the Miami Hurricanes. No important injury updates have been reported that would have titled the line significantly in favor of Miami. The spread is extremely high for two teams with the same record, especially with Boston College at home.

Cohen is the first of what should be several Miami Hurricanes with eligibility remaining to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. Among the other players to watch are defensive tackle Leonard Taylor and safety Kamren Kinchens and James Williams. Kinchens and Taylor are currently projected in the first round.

David Lake of Inside the U wrote that “Shannon Dawson’s first season at Miami is generating plenty of production at wide receiver.” Lake wrote how Xavier Restrepo and Jacolby George ranked second and third in the ACC in receiving yards this season. They have stayed productive despite Miami’s troubles at quarterback.

With Tyler Van Dyke non-committal beyond the game versus Boston College and Jacurri Brown questionable without playing in a game this season Alex Donno of Locked on Canes asked on Wednesday asked if Miami will have a scholarship QB for its bowl game. Brown and Van Dyke are the only healthy Miami scholarship QBs.

Miami middle linebacker Francisco Mauigoa was ranked as the fifth-best transfer last week by Jesse Simonton of On3. Mauigoa had eight tackles, three QB hurries and a pass breakup in the Miami loss to Louisville. Mauigoa is second on Miami with 61 tackles, is the team leader with 15 tackles for loss and co-leader with 6.5 sacks.
