Wolverhampton Wanderers sign £24m Arsenal player
Wolverhampton Wanderers want to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
That is according to The Daily Star, which has noted whether or not Wolves think that they could be able to convince Ramsdale to make the move in the middle of the season.
So, what has been reported about Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aaron Ramsdale? Let’s take a look.
Well, according to The Daily Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Aaron Ramsdale from Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Ramsdale is the second-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal now, and Wolves want to secure his services on a loan deal in the January transfer window with an obligation to buy.
Jose Sa is the first-choice goalkeeper at Wolves at the moment. There is interest in Sa from clubs in Saudi Arabia. The Wanderers will sell him if they get £35 million in transfer fees.
The Wanderers are already on the hunt for a replacement for Sa. Ramsdale is very much on their radar.
According to The Daily Star, the £24 million (The Athletic) goalkeeper is Wolves’ “top target”, and the Wanderers’ “bigwigs believe a move back to the Midlands could be a compelling option for the Stoke-on-Trent born star”.
In my opinion, Arsenal should not rush into offloading Aaron Ramsdale to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the January transfer window.
I believe that the Gunners need to have a good think about it. Yes, David Raya is the number one goalkeeper in Mikel Arteta’s side, but what if the Spain international gets injured?
What if Raya goes through a really bad spell? Ramsdale has proven that he is a very capable goalkeeper who would be able to come in at short notice.
I do not think that Arsenal should be willing to let go of the £120,000-a-week (Spotrac) England international goalkeeper in the middle of the season.
