MIAMI – The price at the pump is once again declining after abruptly rising last week.

Given that the price of oil and gasoline futures has been continuously down over the previous few weeks, the increase in gas prices last week didn’t make much sense, according to AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins. In any case, the gains made over the weekend were mostly undone by the brief spike at the pump. Since oil prices are currently at multi-month lows, low gas costs should persist through the holidays.”
The price of petroleum has been steadily declining for the past three weeks, down 13% ($11) since late October. Oil was selling above $90 per barrel in late September. The closing price on Friday was $77.17, down $5 from the previous week.
The state’s priciest gas markets are located in West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, Naples,as well as Tallahassee. The Panhandle of the state has the lowest prices.
