The Wolverines are gaining traction to flip a recruit they were in on earlier this season.

Most eyes are on the 2025 recruiting cycle for Michigan, but the 2024 cycle isn’t over yet. In fact, Michigan could be looking to gain some more commitments in the class and even flipping some guys from other schools.

The Wolverines could be in the market right now for a prior recruit they were in on for quite a while.

Landisville (PA) Hemfield recruit Deyvid Palepale committed to USC back in early July. He chose the Trojans over the likes of Michigan and Penn State, but it appears there may be some traction gaining on Michigan’s side late in the recruitment. On3’s EJ Holland and Zach Libby both put in predictions for Michigan to flip the USC commit.

Palepale is a 6-foot-3, 305-pound defensive tackle that would fit right into Michigan’s scheme it likes to run on the defensive side of the ball. He isn’t a star when it comes to the recruiting rankings, but he looks to be a solid player who would be a contributor on the Wolverines’ defensive line.

According to the Composite rankings, Palepale is a three-star and the 737th-ranked recruit in the country.

Palepale has a very nice offer list that consists of USC, Penn State, Michigan, Florida, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and others. The gap between Michigan's offensive and defensive recruits is growing - Maize n Brew

As of now, there are no predictions on 247Sports for Michigan on Palepale.
