Former Cleveland Browns defensive end Chris Smith has passed away, per a report.
In devastating news, former Cleveland Browns defensive end Chris Smith has passed away, according Twitter account for his high school alma mater’s football team.

Smith played his high school ball at West Rowan in North Carolina before playing in college at Arkansas. The 31year old was a fifth-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Smith spent three seasons with the Jaguars, before joining the Cincinnati Bengals in 2017, then the following two seasons in Cleveland. In 2020, Smith played in eight games with the Las Vegas Raiders. Most recently, Smith played in four games with the Houston Texans in 2021.

In 2019, Smith’s girlfriend and the mother of his daughter was killed in a car accident not long after she gave birth.

At this time it is unknown for the cause of death of Smith.
