How Browns players felt watching the Bears’ last-gasp Hail Mary

“Please, Lord, don’t let us be in one of these YouTube compilations,” Garrett said after Sunday’s heartstopping 20-17 win over Chicago.

Linebacker Sione Takitaki didn’t want to end up on another compilation, the one other teams use to show you what not to do in certain situations.

“I was just hoping we didn’t end up on the NFL teach tape, man,” he said.

Down three with five seconds left from the Browns 45-yard line, Bears quarterback Justin Fields took a shotgun snap, ducked inside of Garrett and rolled to his left. He wound up and fired from around the 48-yard line and the dramatics of the final seconds were just getting started.

“You just want to buy as much time for your guys to be able to get down there in position to get a chance to catch the ball,” he said. “You want to put some air on it to maybe get a tip. Defensive backs are not the best at tracking the ball. The biggest thing is to give my guys a chance and we almost came out with the catch and that’s all you can really do.”
