Over the past three seasons, Michigan’s offense has revolved around running the ball at will. In 2021 Hassan Haskins was the bell cow, last season Corum and Edwards split the bill, and this year Corum took the lead.
Sadly, however, Blake Corum will be departing for the NFL after this campaign. Michigan will need a new star back to keep the offense running, and they’ve landed two players in the 2024 recruiting class who can step up to the plate.
See what Michigan’s newest running back commits bring to the table and how they can help fill the void left by Corum.

Marshall is a star. He won Ohio Player of the Year last season and rushed for over 1,500 yards. He can beat you with power, speed, or agility and is the definition of a complete player in the backfield. Michigan loves to pound the rock between the tackles and Marshall is a rare play who can both grind out short yardage and threaten to score from anywhere. He will likely be Michigan’s leading rusher and competing for individual awards no later than sophomore year.
In my eyes, he has the talent to get bumped into the top 50 and maybe even into five-star status. Marshall is a complete back who can probably take on a Zach Charbonnet-like role as a freshman if it is needed. He has one of the quickest paths to playing time out of all the freshmen and might end up as a high draft pick when it’s all said and done.
