Josh Allen can make history with three touchdowns against the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday.

For the ups and downs of the Buffalo Bills’ season, one constant has been Josh Allen finding his way into the end zone.

Allen leads the NFL with 37 touchdowns, and if he can score three more on Saturday against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium, he’ll become the first in NFL history to score at least 40 touchdowns in four consecutive seasons. If he can score eight in the final three games, he’ll tie his career-high mark from 2020.

Allen scored 45 touchdowns in 2020, and 42 in 2021 and 2022.

Allen has thrown for 3,541 yards, 26 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. On the ground, he has run for 398 yards and 11 touchdowns.

While the offense has been criticized for being too reliant on Allen to do everything, the tide has shifted in the last two games. Buffalo ran the ball the best it has with Allen at quarterback on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. They ran for 266 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-10 win over Dallas at Highmark Stadium.

Running back James Cook had 25 carries for 179 yards and one touchdown and had two catches for 42 yards and a touchdown. Cook’s play earned him the AFC Player of the Week, and he was the first Bills running back to earn the accolade since Travis Henry in 2002.

Even with the emergence of the running game, the Bills will need Allen to be at his best if they’re going to sneak into the playoffs. And if Allen is going to guide the Bills to the playoffs for the fifth straight season, he’ll likely make history along the way.
