Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Michigan Wolverines fans and fans across the country.

The Michigan Wolverines are the No. 1 team in the nation, but if they’re going to remain the cream of the crop in 2024, they’ll have to replace key contributors heading to the NFL. Michigan’s top two wideouts, Roman Wilson and Cornelius Johnson, will both be entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

In this week’s edition of SB Nation Reacts Michigan fans were asked what positions the team should target in the transfer portal

48 percent of fans would like to see Michigan target a receiver, 29 percent say they should target a cornerback, and 16 percent say quarterback.

  • Michigan has a couple of transfer receivers on its radar, including Indiana’s Donovan McCulley and Wake Forest’s Jahmal Banks. Michigan offered McCulley, and Banks will be visiting Michigan in January. McCulley, 6-foot-5, had 48 receptions for 644 yards and six touchdowns this season. Banks had 59 catches with 653 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
  • When it comes to cornerbacks, 247Sports considers Michigan and Alabama schools “worth keeping an eye on” with former USC CB Domani Jackson. The Wolverines have also contacted former UConn CB Mumu Bin-Wahad, per JPGCFB.
  • Michigan was in contact with former UCLA QB Dante Moore, but Moore has since committed to Oregon. Whether Michigan starting QB J.J. McCarthy returns for his senior season or enters the NFL Draft, Michigan will likely still add a portal quarterback — something that has become the norm during the Jim Harbaugh era.

Michigan fans were also asked if they think high school recruiting or the transfer portal is more important for the Wolverines.
