BREAKING: Toronto Raptors Reportedly Sign Former Grizzlies Player

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Toronto Raptors are signing a new player.

On Friday evening, the Toronto Raptors will be in North Carolina to face off against the Charlotte Hornets.

Before the game, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Raptors are signing Jontay Porter to a two-way deal.

Porter has played 11 games in the NBA for the Memphis Grizzlies (during the 2021 season).

His career averages are 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 53.3% from the field.

He is the younger brother of NBA Champion Michael Porter Jr. (Denver Nuggets).

Earlier in the day, the Raptors announced that Ron Harper Jr. had suffered a season-ending injury, and they waived him, which opened up the roster spot to sign Porter.

As for the Raptors, they have a 9-12 record in their first 21 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference.

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

Following the Hornets, the Raptors will play their next game on Monday when they visit the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The franchise won the 2019 NBA Championship over the Golden State Warriors, but they have only been able to win one playoff series since that season.
