Just Now: Miami Head Coach has Done A very Great Job For The Fans…..
Brown is staying in Miami for 2024
Miami’s starting quarterback from the Pinstripe Bowl will be staying with the Hurricanes for the 2024 season.
With the midnight Tuesday deadline to enter the Transfer Portal approaching, David Lake from Inside The U reported that Jacurri Brown will be sticking with the Hurricanes.
“Brown is embracing the competition for playing time in 2024 with the understanding that if he continues to develop he has a chance to compete for the starting job in 2025,” Lake wrote.
Based on Lake’s breakdown, it sounds like Brown understands that Miami is still working towards adding a one-year starter from the transfer portal for the 2024 season. The Hurricanes were trying to land Washington State transfer Cam Ward, but he opted on New Year’s Day to enter the NFL Draft.
Brown will be a redshirt sophomore next season.
In Miami’s 31-24 loss to Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl, Brown completed 21 of 30 attempts (64.5%) for 181 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed for 57 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Brown and Emory Williams are Miami’s only two returning quarterbacks for the 2024 season. The Hurricanes will be adding true freshman Judd Anderson as an early enrollee this month.

Ole Miss star running back Quinshon Judkins entered the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
As a sophomore in 2023, he rushed for 1,158 yards with 15 touchdowns. In two seasons, he’s scored 31 rushing TD’s with 2,725 yards.
CBS college football reporter Barrett Sallee mentioned Miami, along with Alabama, Auburn and Clemson, as teams to keep an eye on for Judkins.
It’s interesting to see Sallee mention the Hurricanes, but I would be surprised if Judkins ends up in Coral Gables.
Miami does not have a pressing need at running back. The position group is stacked with Henry Parrish Jr, Mark Fletcher Jr, Ajay Allen and Chris Johnson Jr all set to return. Miami has Jordan Lyle and Chris Wheatley-Humphrey enrolling as true freshmen.
Miami appears to be prioritizing positions of need at this point, especially quarterback. Landing Judkins would likely require a significant NIL allocation. I just can’t see Miami trying to move to the front of the line here when they have other holes to fill on the roster.
Some will point out, correctly, that Judkins is a difference-maker unlike most at his position. He’s the first SEC running back since Herschel Walker to score at least 15 touchdowns in each of his first two seasons.
We’ll find out in the coming days if Miami gains any traction here.
