An experienced SEC offensive lineman who’s interested in transferring within the conference is planning to visit Tennessee soon. Mississippi State offensive lineman Percy Lewis, who started seven games for the Bulldogs this season, confirmed to GoVols247 on Monday that the Vols are scheduled to host him this weekend.
Spring classes at Mississippi State begin a week from today. With that deadline in mind, there are still some potential new additions to the Mississippi State roster that are still deliberating their transfer destinations. While January 16th is an important date, it is not a drop dead date. Players have until the drop/add dates (22nd and 23rd) to enroll for classes and take part in spring practice sessions. Even with those dates, there could be some wiggle room. No matter the circumstances, the end for the December portal entrants is drawing nigh.
Bone#1. Yesterday, Mississippi State picked up the transfer commitment of former Auburn defensive lineman Wilky Denaud. Prior to making the trip to Boca Raton to see Florida Atlantic, Denaud’s decision was pretty much made. He elected to take the trip down to south Florida just to be sure. Denaud grew up about an hour away from FAU, but in the end he simply could not pass on another chance at playing in the SEC. Denaud notes Coach David Turner’s history of putting players into the NFL as a key factor in his decision. Denaud has a relationship with Turner that dates back to his junior year of high school, so the foundation of that relationship goes back long before he entered the portal.
