Just In: Miami Police Arrest A Star Mother for h……..
ill one of Miami’s young quarterbacks emerge as QB1 in the 2024 season?
The Miami Hurricanes might not be done adding quarterbacks through the Transfer Portal. If veteran Maryland signal caller Taulia Tagovailoa is granted an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA, Miami would likely pounce.
If he doesn’t become available, Miami might end up with an open competition in spring football and fall camp. The contenders would be junior transfer Reese Poffenbarger, redshirt sophomore Jacurri Brown, sophomore Emory Williams and freshman Judd Anderson.
Which one would give Miami their best chance to beat the Florida Gators on August 31st?
Brown started for Miami in the Pinstripe Bowl and showed progress with his accuracy. He has a strong arm and runs very well. He has good size at 6-4 220lbs. Brown started two games in 2022 as a true freshman and played particularly well on the road against Georgia Tech. He’s well respected by his teammates. He’s a good leader. Brown would be the guy I would lean to in an open competition but I could make a strong case for Williams, too.
Williams started twice last season and happened to face the two toughest defenses on Miami’s schedule against Clemson and Florida State. Miami won the Clemson game and Brown had a chance to lead a clutch drive against FSU before getting injured. He showed some freshman mistakes but also displayed serious poise and made some big throws. He suffered a fracture to his non-throwing arm against the Seminoles and is expected to be ready for spring football. Williams passed Brown on the depth chart last year, but that might have partly been because Brown chose to redshirt. Williams has shown more consistent accuracy in practice but doesn’t have Brown’s mobility.
