Maxx Crosby has been incredibly vocal about wanting the Las Vegas Raiders to bring back Antonio Pierce for the 2024 season. He has even gone as far as saying that he will explore trades if Pierce is not brought back to lead the team in this upcoming season. Although Peirce has taken a few interviews now, it still looks like the Raiders will bring him back.

Crosby is not the only Raiders star to be voicing his desire for Pierce to be the coach as Davante Adams has also been very vocal about the coach being there to lead the team next season. Now Crosby has gone even further and has called out Raiders owner Mark Davis for bringing in their previous head coach Josh McDaniels.

The Raiders looked like an entirely different team under Pierce once McDaniels was fired and their defense was one of the best in the league after Pierce was at the helm. They were able to get incredible wins, most notably against their division rival the Kansas City Chiefs, and it was evident that the entire energy in the locker room changed with McDaniels departure.

Crosby in his recent podcast episode had strong words about the direction owner Mark Davis decided to go in when they hired McDaniels over Bisaccia, Crosby said:

Crosby and many other players did not like the direction that owner Davis was going in and they were right as McDaniels was terrible with the team. Crosby warned about making the same mistake twice as he was quoted saying:“I want to be a Raider … but if we go in a different direction, there is nothing that is off the table,” Crosby recently said on his podcast, via The Athletic.”

Crosby doe not simply want the Raiders to go in a different direction, he is saying that if they don’t, he will look for other teams to play for. Mark Davis is far from the quietest owner in the NFL and this is a scenario where he should definitely listen to his star players and bring back Pierce.

It is very rare to see a locker room in the NFL the way the Raiders locker room was while Pierce too over. He had them buzzing even though they were not really playing for the post season. The locker room was connected and the players clearly were listening to his message. There has never been players that have threatened for a trade to get a coach back so the players must absolutely love Pierce. Mark Davis better bring him back soon before a different team makes him an offer he can’t refuse.
