Drew Miller highlights of Georgia football’s punter signee
The Georgia commitment has a leg and he knows how to use it.
The Georgia Bulldogs worked diligently to bring in the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class for the 2024 cycle and fill several needs on the roster. Part of their attention goes to special teams, and in Mediaopolis (Iowa) punter Drew Miller, the Bulldogs landed the best in the country. Miller chose Georgia over NC State and Iowa State among several other options.
Watch the senior highlights of Miller above. Miller is ranked as the No. 1 punter on 247Sports. He posted a net punt average of 47.33 yards on 30 punts during his senior season. He had 17 punts land inside the 20-yard line, 12 punts land inside the 10-yard line, and allowed all of 5 return yards. Miller arned MaxPreps All-American first-team honors for the third time in his prep career.
“Top-rated punter averaged 49.5 yards per punt with 55 percent landing inside the 20,” MaxPreps said of Miller.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Miller is coming off a junior season during which he averaged 48 yards per punt and also had touchbacks on 51 of his 55 kickoffs. Kohl’s Kicking has Miller ranked as the No. 1 punter in the country and had this to say about him last year.
“Miller most recently competed at the 2022 National Invitational Scholarship Camp in July of 2022. Miller again proved to be one of the top kicker/punter combos in the 2024 class. Miller’s punt score of 111.95 was outstanding. At the 2021 Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp, he scored 25 points on field goal charts and even won the field goal competition held at the end of camp. He also charted extremely well in punting, averaging 113.4 points in charting with multiple punts over 4.7 seconds of hang-time. Miller shows tremendous leg speed and power in both kicking and punting, making him one of the most exciting prospects in his class!”
Chris Sailer Kicking has Miller ranked as the No. 2 punter in the country and said this about him:
“Drew is a very talented young high school punting and kicking prospect. He is big, tall, strong and athletic. Drew does an outstanding job punting the football. He punts for a nice combination of distance and hang time. Drew already hits a D1 level ball. His potential and upside in this area of his game is off the charts. Drew is also an excellent kicker. He hits a pure ball off the ground and easily has 50+ yard range. His kickoffs are strong. As he continues to develop his game, watch out. Drew is a big time combo talent. I look forward to seeing what the future holds. Look for Drew to dominate Vegas XXXIX in January. He will challenge for a TOP 12 Camp Invitation. He is a fine young man who is a pleasure to work with. OFFER NOW!!!”
