2024 five-star wide receiver announced his commitment to Alabama due to

One of the best receivers in the country re-commits to the Crimson Tide after decommitting following Saban’s retirement.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has scored the first major recruiting win of his Crimson Tide tenure, securing the pledge of 5-star wide receiver Ryan Williams.

Williams is considered by many to be one of the best wide receivers in the nation. He was originally a recruit in the 2025 recruiting cycle, before reclassifying and keeping his 5-star rating in the process.

Following former Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s retirement, Williams briefly decommitted from the Crimson Tide. In the time after his decommitment multiple schools made a hard push for him, namely Auburn and Texas.

Williams got his first taste of playing in Bryant-Denny Stadium this past November, where he played in the 6A state championship game. He looked like the most unstoppable player on the field, catching 11 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns, while also returning a kickoff for a touchdown in the 31-28 loss.

There is no doubt Williams will be a massive addition to the Crimson Tide offense in 2024, joining returning wide receivers Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice and Jalen Hale, among others, as well as Washington transfer wide receiver Germie Bernard. DeBoer and new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb have plenty of talent on the outside to work with in their high-powered offensive scheme that will be sure to utilize these talents.

To announce his commitment, Williams posted a video on Instagram and Twitter/X that features photos and video from his most recent visit to Tuscaloosa that he took last weeken
