Bulldogs have placed in an enormous amount of effort to replace Uga X as their mascot.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The retired Georgia Bulldogs mascot, Uga X, has died, according to the school.
UGA Athletics posted about the death Tuesday morning on X, formerly known as Twitter:
“Uga X, fondly known as Que, died peacefully in his sleep earlier this morning,” the school said.
Born May 27, 2013, he formally began his tenure in a collaring ceremony at the Georgia-Georgia Southern football game on Nov. 21, 2015.
He retired after the 2022 season after becoming the most decorated of all the Bulldog mascots.
“He compiled a football record of 91-18, presided over two SEC titles, the 2021 and 2022 College Football Playoff national championships, and seven New Year’s Six bowl appearances,” the school said.
“He will always be remembered as a Damn Good Dawg.”
He was succeeded by a mascot nicknamed “Boom.”
With conference realignment, a 12-team playoff, and a litany of coaching changes, the 2024 college football season is expected to be extremely different. With the future changes coming, the Georgia Bulldogs have already begun “working in silence” according to their latest social media post.
