Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen were two of 41 players selected to the 2024 USA Men’s Basketball National Team Player Pool ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a pair of players who have both been playing at an NBA All-Star caliber level this season.

This has now officially been noticed at a national level.

On Tuesday, USA Basketball announced its player pool for the 2024 USA Men’s Basketball National Team ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen are in the US player pool for the Paris  Olympics

Among the 41 players selected were two members of the Wine and Gold: Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen.

Mitchell has once again been one of the premier two-way guards in the NBA this season. Offensively, he is averaging 27.8 points per game, which ranks sixth in the league. The four-time reigning All-Star also ranks third in the NBA with a career-best 2.0 steals per contest.

He is also averaging career-bests in rebounds (5.4), assists (6.1), and blocks (0.4, tied) per game, while shooting a career-best 88.3% from the free throw line.

Allen has been one of the most dominant and efficient big men in the NBA this season. He is averaging 14.8 points, 10.3 rebounds per game, and 1.1 blocks per game, while shooting 66.9% from the field, which ranks third in the league. The 2022 All-Star is also averaging a career-best 3.0 assists and 0.9 steals per contest.

He has also tied Cleveland’s franchise record with 12 consecutive double-doubles in the team’s last 12 games.
