The NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders have recruited Tom Telesco, an alumnus of John Carroll University, as general manager.

The 51-year-old Telesco formerly held the position of general manager for the Raiders’ AFC West division foe, the Los Angeles Chargers. After the Chargers had a 5-9 start to the season, he was sacked in December 2023 after serving as general manager of the team for ten seasons, from 2013 to 2023.This season marks Telesco’s 29th NFL season, making him the fifth general manager in Raiders history.

The product of Buffalo, New York, also played for the Indianapolis Colts for 15 seasons between 1998 and 2012, the last position he held was vice president of football operations. He was a member of the Colts organization in February 2007 when the club defeated the Chicago Bears 29–17 in Super Bowl XLI.

Telesco worked as an intern with his hometown Buffalo Bills and as an area scout and scouting assistant for the Carolina Panthers before joining the Colts.Telesco earned a business management degree from John Carroll University in 1995. He was the Blue Streaks’ starting wide receiver and a key player in JCU’s 1994 Ohio Athletic Conference title victory.
