Breaking: Three Hurricanes Stars Will Lose The…

Will the former Maryland quarterback join his brother Tua in the Magic City?

Another quarterback option for the Miami Hurricanes has officially become available.

As reported by Pete Nakos from On3 Sports, former Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

It’s unclear whether the NCAA has officially granted Tagovailoa an extra year of eligibility or if that verdict is still pending. He recently submitted a waiver. Either way, entering the portal is a big step forward for him to possibly play an additional season.

He started four years for the Maryland Terrapins. His 3,377 passing yards led the Big 10 conference in 2023. He threw 25 touchdowns with 11 interceptions last season. He’s the all-time Maryland passing leader with 11,256 passing yards and 76 touchdowns.

It’s been reported in recent weeks that Taulia would be interested in playing for the Miami Hurricanes to be closer to his older brother, Tua. The elder Tagovailoa is in his fourth season with the Miami Dolphins.

Tagovailoa could provide the Hurricanes with valuable experience in an otherwise young quarterback room. Jacurri Brown, heading into his third season, is Miami’s most experienced signal caller.

Most of Miami’s quarterback targets have been graduate transfers and Taulia fits that bill. The Hurricanes would ideally like to develop their young quarterbacks for another season while an upperclassman runs the offense in 2024.

Once Teammates For Three Seasons In Coral Gables, Jon Feliciano and Deon Bush Will Battle For A Super Bowl Ring Against One Another February 11th

They used to share the field together and battle it out on Greentree, now they’ll be on opposite sidelines in the biggest game of the year seeking that Lombardi Trophy.

After the results of Sunday’s conference championships, the matchup is set between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of Super Bowl 54. This game is extra sweet for Miami Hurricanes fans, as a former Cane will walk away with a Super Bowl ring.
