Mark Andrews is one of the best tight ends in the NFL. But on Thursday, he apparently made as big of a catch as he’s ever made.According to X, formerly Twitter user Andrew Springs, Andrews, a diabetic, sprung into action when a woman on a Southwest flight from Baltimore to Phoenix had a mid-flight medical emergency.

Springs says that a citizen doctor and nurse on flight couldn’t find a pulse on the woman and her blood pressure was extremely low, needing oxygen to breathe.

Andrews, a diabetic himself, reportedly popped up and asked if they had checked the woman’s blood sugar, and offered up his diabetic testing kit to check on the woman.

Eventually, as Andrews instructed the professionals on using the test kit, the woman’s heart rate stabilized.

Springs said the 28-year-old tight end didn’t stick around for any fanfare.

“Paramedics met the flight as soon as we landed. Andrews deplaned quietly. No fanfare,” Springs tweeted. “As he has done his whole career, he stepped up in a huge moment when people needed him most. Watching complete strangers spring into action to help save someone’s life is truly amazing. (3/3)”

As of now, we don’t know if this is a true story or not—although ESPN reporter Adam Schefter quote-tweeted the thread—or how medically responsible Andrews was for saving the woman’s life. But based on the thread, it’s hard not to come away impressed by the Pro Bowler.

Andrews finished an injury-hampered 2023 season with 45 catches for 544 yards and six touchdowns.

The Baltimore Ravens entered this year’s NFL Playoffs as the odds-on favorites to come out of the AFC. They won an NFL-best 13 regular-season games and looked to be complete juggernauts.

That all came crashing down in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs. John Harbaugh and Co. lost by the score of 17-10, ending their season in premature fashion.
