ESPN Confirm Sad News: Brwons Star Player Including WR Amari Cooper’ In….

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt recently underwent sports hernia surgery to repair a ruptured adductor, sources told ESPN on Tuesday.

The surgery was performed by Dr. William Meyers.

Hunt was listed on the Browns’ injury report with a groin issue for much of the season. He played through the injury and finished with 10 rushing touchdowns, including one in Cleveland’s wild-card loss to Houston.

Typically a ruptured adductor can sideline players for at least six to eight weeks and require immediate surgery. Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson fought through a similar injury last season en route to the Super Bowl.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski praised Hunt’s work ethic and contributions during his end-of-season news conference earlier this month.

“Well, I’ll say this about Kareem. I’m so appreciative of him and the way he played and the style with which he played. Obviously, pre-injury to Nick [Chubb], we didn’t have a spot, but to Kareem’s credit, he stayed in great shape. We brought him in, worked him out. He looked great, picked back up the system right away and played really good football for us and made plays in high-leverage moments and scored touchdowns,” Stefanski said. “He provided huge value for us and he’s a battler. Love the way he runs. The style with which he runs gave us a huge jolt that we needed.”

Hunt, a former NFL rushing champion, re-signed with Cleveland on Sept. 20 after Chubb suffered a major knee injury.

Hunt, who will be a free agent in March, has indicated he’d like to remain in Cleveland but is also planning to test the free agent market.

ORLANDO, Fla. — The AFC’s effort at a game-winning drive ended unsuccessfully when the NFC defense made a stop at the 3-yard line.

The NFC wins the Pro Bowl Games with an overall score of 64-59.

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud’s throw to Los Angeles Chargers receiver Keenan Allen was defended by Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson, creating a turnover on downs with four seconds remaining.

Stroud led all quarterbacks with 173 yards on 18-of-22 passing. The rookie fit in nicely among his star teammates. Seattle Seahawks’ Geno Smith led the NFC in passing with 154 yards on 15-of-21 passing.

Allen was among the standouts, with 90 receiving yards on nine catches, including three touchdowns receiving and one passing.

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb had three touchdown catches and Detroit Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had 10 catches for 117 yards and a TD for the NFC.

ASHBURN, Va. — The Washington Commanders moved quickly to fill their offensive coordinator position, hiring former Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury, multiple sources told ESPN on Sunday night.

But the Commanders weren’t finished, adding Joe Whitt Jr. as their defensive coordinator, according to sources.

They’re the first big moves by new coach Dan Quinn, who has coached defense throughout his career. Kingsbury had been close to joining the Las Vegas Raiders as their offensive coordinator until contract talks broke down on Saturday. Washington talked to Kingsbury that day, and the deal was completed Sunday.

Shortly after news broke about Kingsbury joining the staff, Whitt’s hiring was reported. From the time Quinn took the Commanders job on Thursday, Whitt was considered the top candidate to become his defensive coordinator.
