Outstanding: Georgia WR Embarrasses DBs On Way To Being Named Top WR At Senior Bowl
Ladd McConkey Politely Embarrasses DBs On Way To Being Named Top WR At Senior Bowl
Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey turned heads in a major way at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL. The Bulldog star successfully worked his way up NFL boards as he repeatedly got the best of opposing defensive backs.
Despite the success, McConkey stayed humble. He quickly became one of the most likeable prospects in the draft class while continuing to prove his worth.
McConkey’s career at UGA was a storied one. Winning two national championships, he racked up 1,687 yards over his final three seasons after serving as a scout team member during his first year on campus.
Now, he’s looking ahead to the NFL.
McConkey entered the week viewed as a Top 20 wideout in this year’s draft class, with most believing he’d be picked on Day 2 or early in Day 3.
In an attempt to better that draft outlook, he took part in the Senior Bowl last week.
It worked!
He more than succeeded in grabbing the attention of coaches and scouts in attendance, getting the better of his opposition at nearly every turn.
As a result, some have bumped him up in mock drafts, with ESPN’s latest projection seeing him go just outside the first round to Carolina.
Leading up to gameday, McConkey was voted the week’s most impressive pass catcher. Defensive backs couldn’t keep up!
When gameday came, he continued to flash.
Despite the success against his draft class foes, McConkey kept humble. When speaking with the media in that Peach State southern drawl, his focus on the task at hand was visible.
“It’s a chance to make an impression on these coaches, these scouts… Another chance to compete,” he replied when asked about the Senior Bowl opportunity. “It’s football, I’m just out here having fun.”
He also wished success for his Georgia teammates in attendance, even those lining up across from him on the defensive side of the ball.
McConkey did everything in his power to boost his stock ahead of April’s NFL Draft, and his week might’ve been highlighted by a pair of visits from the Philadelphia Eagles. In the right situation, his shiftiness and route running abilities could make him a real threat at the next level.

Elite Georgia Bulldogs TE Explicitly States What NFL Team he Wants to Play for in 2024
Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers explicitly said that he would like to play for the Tennessee Titans, according to NBC Sports NFL analyst Chris Simms.
Bowers is expected to be an early first-round draft pick in the 2024 NFL draft, and he is expected to be the first tight end taken off the board without question. Longtime ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper had Bowers as the No. 5 overall selection in his first mock draft of the season.
Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers may be too good to fall to the Tennessee Titans
Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers is seen as a generational tight end talent. Bowers had 2,538 receiving yards and 31 total touchdowns on 175 receptions as a member of the Georgia Bulldogs. During his freshman season with the Bulldogs, Bowers broke the school’s single-season record for receiving touchdowns.
Bowers won the Mackey Award twice, which is the award given to the best tight end in the nation. Bowers also achieved All-American status three times.
In an article from DawgNation, Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator Mike Bobo explained what exactly made Bowers so great.
“He can do everything. He can block, he can run, he can catch,” Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said. “We didn’t have him throw any, but I think if we had someone to throw the ball, he could. A joy to coach. Just a pleasure to coach. Lucky to have the one year where I got to be part of coaching him and seeing him do something on that football field and how he affects our football team.”
Bowers’ threat as a blocker in the run game allows him to easily sneak out and make big plays in the flats. His ability to run after the catch makes him a liability to score at any time.
In the same DawgNation article, Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck explained how much of a freak athlete Bowers is, especially when compared to one of the most athletically-gifted rosters in the nation.
“He’s truly one of the best college football players ever to play the game,” quarterback Carson Beck said. “We’d be out during team run in January, February, where we go out and run cold weather and this guy is not losing a single sprint. I’m talking to everybody on the team like the skill guys, guys that should be beating him, that are faster than him. He didn’t lose a single rep.”
The Tennessee Titans have the No. 7 overall pick, and if NFL scouts see the same things in Bowers as his teammates and coaches did, it is hard to see him falling that far.
