Sad News: Broncos Star ‘Russell Wilson’ Has Been Suspended For 4months For Insulting The Head Coach….
The likelihood of a return for the Denver Broncos quarterback is continuing to dwindle.
Talks have continued to circle the quarterback situation with the Denver Broncos since the 2023 NFL season has come to a close. With the sudden benching of Russell Wilson taking place in the last quarter of the year, questions around his long-term future in the Mile High have followed as a result.
Now, the idea of a return is becoming a bit less likely. According to a tweet from Zac Stevens of DNVR, Wilson and his wife, Ciara, are expected to be accepting offers on their Denver house, one that was acquired upon his arrival to the Broncos:
Upon the purchase of the home, Russ and Ciara ended up dishing out $25 million for the 25,000 sq. ft. mansion. Now, it seems the couple has their eyes set on a potential sale in less than two years later.
While it’s not with 100% certainty that Wilson won’t be in the blue and orange next season, that’s where all signs are starting to point. If the Broncos want to avoid his fully guaranteed contract for next season, the team would have to cut him by March 17 to avoid paying the extra cash. However, it would still result in a league-record $85 million in dead money being on the books.
Instead, the Broncos could turn to an affordable option under center, potentially targeting a quarterback in the first round of the draft or even a cheaper guy in free agency. Whoever the man for the job is, the overarching goal is to find a better fit for Sean Payton’s offensive system and lead this roster into the postseason.
