Another Four Top Mega Star Commit To Bruins…..

A 26-year-old from northeastern Ontario has made it to the big leagues in hockey signing a two-year, two-way contract with the Boston Bruins on Sunday and scoring his first NHL goal in his first professional game.

Brazeau made his NHL debut in Monday’s game against the Dallas Stars.

Just over a minute and a half into the second period, he landed a wrist shot to tie the game at 2-2, marking his first NHL goal.

“Brazeau is from New Liskeard, Ont., and just celebrated his 26th birthday.

The six-foot-five, 245-pound forward spent four years playing for the North Bay Battalion before being signed by the Toronto Marlies as a free agent in 2019.

He has played 189 AHL games and scored 53 goals and made 65 assists for 118 points.

“Brazeau, 26, has skated in 49 games with Providence this season, recording 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points,” the Bruins said in a news release.

Bruins general manager Don Sweeney made the announcement about Brazeau Monday morning saying his annual NHL cap hit is $775,000.

The two-way contract is common for players entering the NHL for the first time and allows them to continue earning their minor pro league salary while waiting for the call up where players earn significantly more money.

Brazeau’s AHL salary is $135,000 for the 2023/2024 season and will go up to $165,000 next season.

The Boston Bruins dodged a bullet Wednesday night, turning a blown multi-goal lead in the third period into a thrilling 6-5 overtime road victory against the Edmonton Oilers.

It seemed as though Boston had control of the contest for good after taking a commanding 4-1 lead in the second period, but Edmonton fought back. The Oilers scored three consecutive goals after trailing three, knotting up the contest that eventually went into overtime.

There, the Bruins flexed their grit overcoming a 4-on-3 power play to give Charlie McAvoy the window needed to find the back of Edmonton’s net and put a close to the period once and for all.

“I think we played a really great game (in) the first two periods,” Pastrnak said following the win, per TNT. “Heck of a team, good skills, a lot of speed and they came back and some huge saves by our goaltender and he kept us in the game and in OT.”

Pastrnak was pivotal, scoring Boston’s fifth goal while also assisting on the fourth from Jake Debrusk.

Pastrnak increased his team lead in goals by netting No. 36.

With the loss, Edmonton ends its two-game winning streak.

Mason Lohrei became the first Bruin to record a three-plus-assist night as a rookie since DeBrusk in March 2018, according to 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Ty Anderson.

Morgan Geekie, who scored the game’s first goal, notched a career-high 10th goal.
