One rivalry newcomer and one old hand were the difference Saturday night as No. 3 North Carolina easily took the first edition of its rivalry with No. 7 Duke this season. Harrison Ingram, in his first game against the Blue Devils, joined Armando Bacot in producing a double-double as the Tar Heels built a 10-point halftime lead and rolled to a 93-84 ACC win at the Smith Center. A transfer from Stanford, Ingram tallied a season-high 21 points, reaching the 20-point mark for the third time in his first season with the ACC-leading Tar Heels (18-4, 10-1 ACC). The 6-7 junior from Dallas made five 3-pointers, including three in the first half when UNC opened a 45-35 lead. He also grabbed 13 rebounds. Bacot scored 25 points and finished with 10 rebounds, his 77th career double-double.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are consistently one of the top-performing teams in men’s NCAA basketball and the only team to have made 21 Final Four appearances. The program has captured three national titles since the turn of the century, and fans always have their sights set on another one.

If you’re wondering how to keep up with Tar Heels action throughout the 2024-25 season, you’re in the right place. You can catch almost all of the North Carolina Tar Heels’ games through live TV streaming services, skipping the high prices of cable and watching from anywhere. Here’s a look at how to watch Tar Heels basketball this season.

Most Tar Heels’ games will air on the ACC Network (ACCN), CBS, ESPN, or ESPN2. As long as you have a sports streaming service that includes those networks, you’re in good shape for the 2023-24 season. Not sure where to start? Here’s how these channel lineups look on each of the major live TV streaming services.

If you only pick one streaming service, Sling TV is a great option. It’s affordable, with plans starting at just $40 per month. Sling Orange is likely your best bet, as it caters more to college basketball fans. On the other hand, if you combine it with Sling Orange & Blue for $55 per month, you can watch both college and pro sports on SlingTV. The platform also offers plenty of add-ons, and all plans include 50 hours of cloud DVR storage.

Sling offers one of the best ways to stream sports on a smaller budget. Tar Heels fans can catch most games with only the Sling Orange plan plus the Sports Extra add-on. That gets you ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ACCN, and plenty of extra college and pro sports on channels like ESPNU, MLB Network, and NBA TV for only $51 per month.

If you’re looking for more live sports, Sling can scale up with you. With Sling Orange & Blue and the Sports Extra add-on, you’ll have even more sports channels, including NFL Network, Big 10 Network, FS2, and NFL RedZone. This package costs $70 a month and features most major international and national sports coverage. Unfortunately, local channels are only available in some markets, and Sling doesn’t offer CBS or any regional sports networks (RSNs).

DIRECTV STREAM may not be the cheapest live TV streaming option on the market, but it’s one of the simplest ways to get a complete sports package in one place. Plans cost between $79.99 and $164.99 a month, and you can choose just how much sports action you want based on the package. All plans also include unlimited cloud DVR and no cap on simultaneous streams at home.

If you want a basic cable plan with a fair amount of Tar Heels action, DIRECTV STREAM’s Entertainment plan is a great option. For $79.99 a month, you’ll get around 70 channels to watch the Tar Heels, including ESPN, ESPN2, and CBS. This package offers the basics of live sports with some of the most popular news and entertainment networks.

If you want the full sports experience, though, we recommend the Choice plan. This package gets you RSNs, along with over 15 other major sports networks like ESPNU, MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network, and ACCN. Its $108.99 a month price is a little steep, but it’s one of the best sports streaming packages on the market.
