Jenelle Evans had quite the scare over the weekend, when a man attempted to break into the home she shares with her three chlidren.
The 32-year-old Teen Mom OG star revealed to TMZ that she was the victim of an attempted break-in at her North Carolina home.
The attemped break-in comes at a rather tumultuous time for Evans and her family, with her husband David Eason reportedly planning to file for divorce.
Evans told TMZ, through her manager Austin Keen, ‘With everything going on already this couldn’t have happened at a worse time.’
‘Me and my children are safe, but a bit shaken up, the local community and police department are doing everything to ensure the capture of this person,’ she added.
‘I’ll soon be exposing the details of what exactly happened that night,’ she revealed in the statement.
‘For now, we ask for prayers and privacy until me and my family recover from this terrifying experience. Thank you to everyone who is helping us to catch this perpetrator,’ Evans concluded.
The Columbus County Sherrif’s Office confirmed that there was an attempted breaking and entering at her home.
The Sherrif’s Office added that a deputy responded to Evans’ home for a call about a breaking and entering, but the suspect had fled by the time he arrived.
The unidentified person attempted to break in through the back of the residence, though he was unable to get inside.
He then entered Evans’ garage and started throwing some of her personal items from the garage into her lawn.
The deputy reported that no items were missing from the home, though the lock on the back door where the man tried to enter was damaged.
This comes after a report on Friday revealed her husband David Eason is planning on filing for divorce from Evans, after she reportedly kicked him and his 16-year-old daughter Maryssa out of her home.
That also comes after Evans was reunited with her oldest son Jace, 14, who was removed from her home by Child Protective Services after Eason allegedly attacked Jace in September 2023.
