Another Megastar Commit To Packers….
The Green Bay Packers will be entering the 2024 season with just as much confidence as anyone else in the league. The second half of the 2023 season was everything the front office had been hoping for. Jordan Love played incredible football. Aaron Jones got healthy and played out of his mind. The Packers got into the playoffs (and won a game).
Now the Packers are looking to tweak the offense in a way that will take them to next level. One report has surfaced that will excite Jordan Love, Aaron Jones, and Packers fans everywhere.
The Green Bay Packers Officially Show Interest In Game-Changing Running Back
The Packers have met formally with Texas Running Back Jonathan Brooks. Brooks, a 6’0″ 207lb running back, is one of the best prospects coming out in the 2024 NFL Draft. To be more specific, he is widely ranked as the top running back in this year’s draft and is projected to go in the late first round to mid second round.

The Green Bay Packers are a team noted to be in the market for help in the cornerback position, as they eye a run for the Superbowl. Despite seemingly having their outside corners on lock with superstar Jaire Alexander and young rising star Carrington Valentine it is unlikely that they are satisfied with their depth and talent at the key position, especially given the fact that starting slot cornerback and All-Pro return man Keisan Nixon is not under contract for the 2024-25 season.
There is a wealth of NFL teams allowing their cornerbacks to take new offers in free agency during the 2024 offseason. Spotrac lists 49 free-agent cornerbacks who played over 100 snaps in their 2023-24 campaigns. This ranges from former Green Bay Packers Chandon Sullivan and Isaac Yiadom, respected slot corner Kenny Moore II, and even rival superstar Jaylon Johnson. It is safe to assume that the cornerback carousel will be in full effect.
The Green Bay Packers are likely in the market for a few of these 50+ free agents, as they experienced their own woes at the cornerback position during the 2023 season. Much of this was brought about by the trade of Rasul Douglas to the Buffalo Bills, along with the injuries (and suspension) of cornerback Jaire Alexander. These lineup changes found the Packers as the eighth-highest pass rating allowed for the 2023 season according to Statmuse.
Because of this fact alone, it is likely the Green Bay Packers will likely seek consistency at the cornerback position going forward, potentially aiming for a veteran to solidify the backend. The Packers will not be the biggest spenders in that position, as there is still talent remaining there as previously mentioned with Jaire Alexander and Carrington Valentine,
Darious Williams is a veteran cornerback who came into the league as an undrafted rookie in 2018, though he quickly found his place as an outside corner for the Los Angeles Rams. Williams was a part of the starting unit of the 2022 Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams, on the opposite side of future Hall-Of-Fame cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
In his latest tenure, Darious Williams was a figurehead in what was considered an overperforming Jacksonville Jaguars secondary, Williams wrapped up the season with a respectable 79.5 PFF Grade which was good for 13th in the NFL among corners in 2023. What makes this more impressive is Darious Williams’ durability, playing 1,035 snaps through all 17 games for the Jaguars. With resilience like that, there is good reason for the Green Bay Packers to pursue Williams as a cornerback option, given the position’s history with injuries.
Despite putting together a successful campaign with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team has slated him for release for cap flexibility in the upcoming season according to NFL insider Ian Rapaport
