247sport News: Hurricanes Set To Sign Veteran Wide Receiver To Pair With Elite Duo” To Replace Ny Carr ….

Miami has two transfer quarterbacks that the receiving corps must get to know fast

Miami’s passing game will go with Transfer Portal quarterback Cam Ward in 2024 and that’s a major change for the Hurricanes.

Top-60 Miami signee Ny Carr talks plan for freshman season

From 2023, CFB Stats shows that Miami averaged 245.7 yards passing per game. The total was good for 45th in the nation as the Hurricanes came up short far too often. Sometimes change is good, and perhaps the parting of ways with quarterback Tyler Van Dyke will work out for both parties as he’s now at Wisconsin.

As for UM, the next task is getting all the receivers on the same page with Ward, no small task.

To that point, wide receiver Xavier Restrepo commented on the situation with Van Dyke and what’s next for the Canes, as one can watch this video via AllHurricanes own Liam Willerup. Here’s the quote:

“He was my guy,” Restrepo said of Van Dyke. “I wish him all the best over there at Wisconsin. But again, the quarterbacks that came in over here, I get along with them really well. on and off the field. So, again, I’m just super excited for our next practice, what is it, Friday? I’m just super excited for it.”

Going by Wednesday’s practice, Ward and Restrepo are already building a bond. Despite tight coverage from Washington safety transfer Mishael Powell, Restrepo made an acrobatic catch that drew rave reviews from the media. Here’s Restrepo’s take on the play:

“Mishael had great defense. There was nothing else you could do, (but) it was just an absolute dime by Cam, you know? He threw it in the air and he let me do what I do best, catch the ball.”

Restrepo also commented on how Ward and the other quarterbacks make it easy for the Miami wide receivers.

“He and all the quarterbacks have this work ethic that’s just contagious. You know what I’m saying? We all want to be around them all day, every day. Whether that’s film room, weight room, just out here just chilling, hanging at the house. Whatever, you know? Again, they just have contagious characteristics about them. And, we just love being around them.”

Miami has Ward as its starter and Restrepo made it clear that the entire quarterback room is working well with the receiving corps. Those are good signs for UM’s 2024 passing attack.

MIAMI — The visit schedule is evolving for four-star cornerback Chris Ewald of Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna, but he has a pair of official visits locked in and he said five schools are showing the most interest.

Georgia, Miami, Auburn, Tennessee and Louisville are involved with the 6-foot, 160-pound Ewald, but others continue to push to move into contention.

Zionsville (Ind.) High receiver Eugene Hilton Jr. landed a recent offer from Georgia. And the Bulldogs will be tough to beat moving forward.

After talking to a source with knowledge of the recruitment I’ve logged a 247Sports Crystal Ball Forecast in favor of the Bulldogs. 247Sports National Analyst Tom Loy also forecasted Hilton to UGA.

James Coley is the lead recruiter for Hilton and he also recruited the Midwest playmaker’s father TY Hilton to FIU.
