ESPN REPORT: The New York Yankees Trade 2 Mega-Star And Replace….

Last week, New York Yankees’ general manager Brian Cashman said that the organization hasn’t engaged in contract extension talks with infielder Gleyber Torres. Torres confirmed that at spring training on Wednesday but said that he wants to “be a Yankee for life.”

Despite no contract extension conversations taking place yet, New York Yankees’ infielder Gleyber Torres says that he wants to be a Yankee for life and is open to contract discussions.

Gleyber Torres, entering final yr of contract, said this AM, “I want to be a Yankee for a life,” but added there has been no extension talks. Torres said he understood the team’s hesitancy since the last two extensions, Severino & Hicks, didn’t work out so well due to injuries.

On Florida’s Marco Island, a stately waterfront manor house that was built for the late New York Yankees pitcher Bob Turley has hit the market for $16.5 million.

Dubbed the “Turley Mansion,” the Italian-inspired property was built for the baseball star in the 1980s—after his retirement from the MLB—and in the years since has become known as one of Marco Island’s most prestigious addresses, according to listing agency Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.

“This property is truly a gem,” said listing agent Cathy Rogers, of the firm’s Marco Island office, who brought the mansion to the market earlier this week.

Sitting on nearly three acres on Robert’s Bay, the more than 13,000-square-foot home channels a Venetian palazzo with details like a 25-foot hand-painted barrel ceiling in the great room, columns, stone flooring, imported fountains and grand fireplaces, along with plenty of other ornate details.

There’s a formal dining area; a gourmet kitchen with a temperature-controlled hidden wine cellar; a library with built-in bookcases that leads to a full bar and lounge; a family room; staff accommodation; multiple terraces; and six bedrooms, including a well-equipped primary suite with a hand-rubbed Venetian plaster ceiling, dual bathrooms and walk-in closets and a morning room with a private balcony.

“Its combination of historical significance, architectural beauty and prime location on Marco Island makes it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” she added.
