Another Five Stars Commit To Georgia Bulldogs….
Alabama continued its recruiting momentum on Wednesday afternoon with the addition of four-star Darrell ‘Duke’ Johnson (Eastman, GA).
The No. 3 linebacker in the country committed to the Crimson Tide over schools like Florida State, UCF, Tennessee and others. He explained the decision with 247Sports Anna Adams.
“Honestly, Alabama has always been my dream school, but the fact that they have shown me and my family so much love really brought it all together for me.”
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder is now the highest-ranked Alabama commit in the 2025 class, which jumped to No. 10 in the country. Johnson is the fourth commit since March 1 joining in-state prospects Antonio Coleman (DL) and Derick Smith (ATH) as well as all three-star Zymear Smith (ATH).
Six of the top-10 prospects in the class of 2025 committed ahead of their senior seasons, but plenty of action has yet to unfold on the college football recruiting trail. National recruiting analyst Tom Loy provided the latest news on several major prospects in the 2025 cycle, including multiple recruiting battles between Nebraska and Notre Dame and Florida State and Georgia.
The Huskers lead for Top247 quarterback prospect TJ Lateef, but Loy hesitates to log a Crystal Ball pick as Texas and Alabama pursue. The Longhorns are at risk of losing quarterback commitment KJ Lacey and may view Lateef as a backup plan. Nebraska is also heavily involved in several other major recruiting battles, pushing Miami and Notre Dame for multiple elite prospects.
Loy also updated the recruitment of top-ranked offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. and provided information on targets for USC, Oregon, LSU, South Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee, among others.
