Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to get a massive contract extension over the coming months. But based on how the 26-year-old has continued to handle himself heading into a big season, you wouldn’t be able to tell.

At his third annual “Luau with Tua” event, hosted by the Tua Foundation, the Dolphins’ star quarterback answered an array of questions ranging from anything under the sun, including his contract situation, his new quarterback coach (Spoiler Alert: It’s John Beck), and some of his goals this offseason. However, the one thing that stood out most to me was how excited Tua sounded about his future in Miami.

“This definitely feels like home to me. I said this before, but this is where both of my kids were born. This is where we’re going to raise our family, with me and Anna. And this is the city that chose me to be their quarterback, and I’m very grateful and honored for that. I don’t take any of that lightly. So, I definitely call this home…”

It has been a busy offseason for Tua, who continues to work hard to refine his skills. As mentioned earlier, he’s working with John Beck and Tom House at 3DQB this offseason and hopes to continue to build upon the league-leading season he had in 2023. But at the end of the day, only one thing really matters for Tua and the fanbase, and it’s not individual accolades. It’s playoff wins and division titles.

“Individual accolades are super cool,” Tua said before Miami’s 26-7 WildCard loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. “They’re awesome. But if we could’ve won all our games, I would’ve traded that for that. if I would’ve thrown for 200 yards the entire season and we would’ve been 17-0, I think anybody would’ve done the same. Yeah, it’s cool, but that doesn’t mean you won or you accomplished what you wanted to accomplish as a team.”

For the first time in a long time, I feel like the Dolphins have a legit quarterback. Now, we need Tagovailoa to do what we all know he can do: lead the Dolphins to an AFC East Championship and the first playoff win in 20+ years. #InTuaWeTrust

The Miami Dolphins had the best offense in the game last season, but they were ice-cold in their playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, both literally and figuratively.

The Dolphins traveled to Missouri’s blistering cold, and Tua Tagovailoa and company couldn’t get anything going.

Now, looking back to that day, star OL Terron Armstead claimed the cold was literally too much to handle.

Talking to TMZ Sports, he admitted that he had never experienced anything like that in his career:

“Cold is not the word I would use to describe it,” he said.
