Breaking: Razorbacks Make Surprise Move To Sign $95.3 Million LB…..

The Razorbacks are in the running for another new transfer target at the linebacker position, and he’ll be on campus very soon.

Arkansas defensive coordinator Travis Williams hosted a coveted transfer linebacker this week in Nikhai Hill-Green of Charlotte, and the Razorbacks will welcome another linebacker target to campus for an official visit later this morning.

Jacksonville State’s Larry Worth, 6-4, 220, officially entered the portal on Tuesday and announced a new offer from Minnesota on Wednesday. By Thursday, Williams and the Hogs joined his list and scheduled a visit that is expected to begin Friday morning.

Here’s everything you need to know to tune in to Tuesday’s game between the No. 2 Arkansas Razorbacks and the UAPB Golden Lions in Dickey-Stephens Park.

No. 2 Arkansas (34-6, 14-4 SEC) heads to North Little Rock (Ark.) for its annual game in Dickey-Stephens Park on Tuesday night. The Razorbacks will take on the UAPB Golden Lions (13-26, 4-14 SWAC) in an in-state matchup for the sixth time in history.

The Hogs enter the matchup after staging a remarkable comeback from a 7-0 deficit on Tuesday to walk off the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 9-8, and forged a hard-fought 5-4 win on Wednesday to improve to 9-0 in midweek competition for the first time since 2005.

Arkansas secured two out of three last weekend against South Carolina in a three-game series in Founders Park to protect their first-place lead in the Southeastern Conference Western Division. Despite dropping the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday, the Razorbacks bounced back to clinch the series finale with a 9-6 victory over the Gamecocks.

UAPB comes into this matchup after being swept by the Prairie View A&M Panthers last weekend in a three-game series at John W. Tankersley Field and is on a seven-game losing streak.

First pitch is set for 6 p.m. (CDT) on Tuesday and can be seen on the SEC Network.

Tuesday’s game will be the sixth meeting between the two programs, all of which have taken place in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks lead the series, 5-0, and have outscored the Golden Lions, 75-9.

The first meeting between Arkansas and UAPB came on April 16, 2019, when the Hogs run-ruled the Golden Lions in seven innings, 16-4. The two teams met for their first midweek series on April 13, 2021, where Arkansas took the first game, 12-4, and swept the two-game set the next day with a 26-1 run-rule victory. The last time Arkansas and UAPB faced off was on April 12, 2022, when the Razorbacks swept a doubleheader. Both teams were supposed to square off in a midweek series in April of 2020 but the COVID-19 Pandemic canceled the rest of the year.

PROJECTED RANKINGS

The Golden Lions are predicted to finish fifth in the SWAC Western Division and did not have a player named to the Preseason All-SWAC Team.
