ESPN REPORT: The Rams GM Les Snead Accusing HC Sean McVay After The Insult….

The Los Angeles Rams have 10 incoming rookies, and one of those is Blake Corum. Having just finished his senior year with Michigan football, Corum was selected in the third round as the 83rd overall pick. He’ll be joining a room that’s led by Kyren Williams, who was interestingly one of the reasons why the Rams drafted Corum. On an episode of Ricky’s Ram Jam, GM Les Snead spoke about how LA doesn’t want to “totally run down” Williams, hence the Corum draft pick.

“A lot of people have said he’s similar (to Williams),” Snead said, pertaining to Corum. “They have a very similar play style. They both really, really care about football. That’s very important on that side of the ball. That’s a sophisticated side of the ball. We’re a relatively advanced, veteran offense, so you definitely are going to need to bring a care factor to be able to get up to speed and be able to function and fit right in and keep the thing humming.”

“It’s a tough league; it’s a 17-game season plus playoffs; might go to 18 games one day. So we always felt like we needed to have as many quality runners as possible so we don’t just totally run down Kyren, and we have one or two, or even three guys that can contribute, keep everyone fresh, and let’s go and try to impose our will,” Snead added. Blake Corum starts a new chapter with the Rams

It remains to be seen how Corum will fare in the pros. Despite his success at the college level, multiple scouting reports brought up concerns surrounding his age and durability. Corum is already 24 years old, meaning that by the end of his rookie contract, he’ll be nearing the age of 30. As for his durability, the running back suffered a meniscus tear back in 2022.

But if one were to look at the positives (which highly outweigh the negatives), Corum is a force to be reckoned with. His ability to tally yards at the collegiate level is a step above many of his peers’. The former Wolverine’s explosiveness, combined with his bulky, powerful frame and his low center of gravity made him one of the top RBs in the NCAA last year.

His impact on the field was one of the biggest reasons why Michigan recently won the National Championship. In the title game against Washington back in January, Corum scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns and was named Offensive Player of the Game.

Throughout his four years in Michigan, Corum rushed for a total of 3,737 yards and 58 touchdowns, 27 of which occurred in his senior year.

Interestingly, he has even been compared to Kyren Williams multiple times. Both are third-round picks, both are relatively undersized, and most importantly, both possess many similar traits when running the ball.

With the RB room ready to go for September, the Rams are one step closer to another winning season.
