Jannik Sinner will play Roland Garros over the next two weeks despite in his own admission, he is not 100% right and doesn’t know as of yet how he will do until he gets on the court. But there is one good piece of news related to his condition.
His hip is not a concern admits Sinner in his pre tournament media day. The World No.2 and somewhat World No.1 elect if Novak Djokovic loses early spoke ahead of the tournament starting and said that he believes he can still play good tennis.

But that he played mainly as it is a Grand Slam. He was told previously that he ran the risk of long-term damage if he played on his injured hip and that it would be correct to skip Roland Garros. But Sinner seemed to get some semblance of better news or disregarded the advice.

He was soon back on court practicing and preparing for Roland Garros after a stint in the state of the art medical centre at Juventus Football Club. He was seen practicing with Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi and then later made the decision to head to Paris and play. A surefire sign that he believes in his ability enough to do so. He is seen as having a good draw in Paris and so will hope that translates to a triumph, but of course given his injury tribulations he won’t get too carried away.
“I’m not concerned about the hip anymore. The physical condition is not 100%, of course, but we can’t do magical stuff. I know I can play good tennis, even in the kind of shape I’m right know. I decided to play because it’s an important tournament. It could be very important, it’s a Grand Slam, I want to be part of it if my body allows it. I practiced these last three days, I’m confident on the fact that it’ll be better and better every day.”
