Team Arkansas plays in the 2024 edition of The Basketball Tournament this weekend. Several former Razorbacks are on the squad including Hunter Mickelson, JD Notae, Adrio Bailey, and Jaylen Barford. You have NEA connections with Mickelson, Shaun Doss Jr., and head coach Monty Patel.

Team Arkansas is in the Butler Regional. They’ll face Eberlin Drive in the 1st Round Friday at 12:00pm in Indianapolis. The game will be streamed on TBT Live.

John Calipari and the Razorbacks will host one of the top center prospects in 2025 on a visit this fall.

One of the top center prospects in the country has scheduled a visit to Arkansas for later this fall. Malachi Moreno, the No. 2 center and No. 26 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, will visit John Calipari and the Razorbacks beginning on Oct. 4.

Moreno also announced a full slate of visits to other schools this fall. He’ll be at Ohio State on Sept. 6, North Carolina on Sept. 13, Indiana on Sept. 20 and Kentucky on Oct. 11. He’s previously taken visits to Ohio State, Iowa and Notre Dame.

On June 24, Moreno cut his list of programs down to a final eight which included the Arkansas. Alongside the Hogs were Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Louisville is the only top-eight program Moreno hasn’t scheduled an official visit to yet.

The 6-11, 230-pound center from Georgetown (Ky.) Great Crossing is coming off an extremely impressive performance in the the adidas 3SSB Championships this past week. With Calipari and other top coaches in attendance, Moreno helped his Indiana Elite team to a runner-up finish in the final adidas grassroots event.

Moreno’s marquee performance came in the semifinals game against top-5 big man prospect Koa Peat and the Compton Magic. He finished with 21 points, 16 rebounds and an emphatic victory over one of the event’s best teams.

“He finished with soft touch around the rim and came up with big defensive plays while totally dominating on the glass,” 247Sports national analyst Eric Bossi wrote after the game.
